Chemours, Corteva and 3M – have agreed to pay more than $13.7 billion to resolve claims brought by public water systems that the companies contaminated drinking water across the United States with ‘forever chemicals’ known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS.

Both settlement agreements set up multibillion dollar funds that will be distributed in two phases, with the first phase providing immediate relief to public water systems with one or more impacted water sources, and the second phase providing relief to public water systems that do not currently have an impacted water source but will be required to test for PFAS and remediate if necessary.

FeganScott Managing Partner Beth Fegan played an integral role in protecting the interests of the class members represented in the second phase of each settlement and will continue to represent the interests of these class members moving forward as they submit claims for the costs of testing, installing and operating systems to remove or reduce levels of PFAS in contaminated water sources.

The settlement will provide a number of benefits to owners of the affected vehicles, including reimbursements for out-of-pocket losses related to thefts and attempted thefts, and free anti-theft software upgrades.

assaulted her while she was employed by Wide Open Music (WOM), the Nashville music management firm that represented Allen at the time.

According to the complaint, Allen’s abusive behavior, which ranged from crude, inappropriate comments about the plaintiff to sexual assault, spanned the course of the 18 months she served as his manager. It also details WOM’s awareness of Allen’s history of inappropriate sexual behavior, and its failure to investigate the plaintiff’s claims after she reached out for help.

A month later, in June, FeganScott filed a second lawsuit against Allen on behalf of another woman who alleges that the country music artist sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in Las Vegas while recording the incident without her consent.

Following the filing of these lawsuits, Allen was dropped by his publicist and suspended by his label, agency, and management.
