In February 2024, an investigation by the Chicago Tribune revealed what the paper claims is a longstanding history of sexual abuse within multiple well-known Illinois health systems. The reporting details that for years, patients complained that providers sexually abused them, and that their calls for help went unanswered.
Some of the hospitals named in the Tribune’s reporting include Glenbrook Hospital and Swedish Covenant Hospital. Swedish Covenant Hospital is currently operated by Endeavor, formerly NorthShore University Health System. You can read more about the paper’s investigation here.
