National class action law firm FeganScott has announced an investigation into The Alcohol & Drug Testing Service (TADTS) data breach following an announcement from the company that attackers accessed and downloaded company data. TADTS manages drug and alcohol testing for employers nationwide, including federally mandated testing for the transportation, marine, aviation, pipeline, and oil and gas industries.
According to the notice provided by the company to consumers, and a report submitted to the Maine Attorney General’s office, over 748,000 people may have had their personal data exposed. This data may include:
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license or government issued ID
- Passport numbers
- Bank or financial information
- Credit card or debit card information
- Usernames and passwords
- Emails and passwords
- Health insurance information
- US Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) or alien registration numbers
- Biometric information
According to reports, TADTS became aware of the data breach around July 9, 2024, and further investigation revealed that the cyber-criminal responsible was BianLian ransomware group. After removing the third party from its servers, TADTS waited more than a year until July 17, 2025 to begin notifying affected individuals.
