FeganScott stands with the American Bar Association in supporting Chief Justice John Roberts’s statement condemning President Trump’s outlandish calls for the impeachment of U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, following the Court’s decision to block the President’s attempt to deport Venezuelan migrants.
We at FeganScott believe in the rule of law and stand with the ABA in its defense of the “four major principles of law…: Defending Judges and Courts, Acknowledging the Role of the Courts, Adhering to the Rule of Law, and Respecting the Separation of Powers and the three co-equal branches of government with distinct duties and responsibilities.”
The need for lawyers to take a stand is even more urgent as the Speaker of the House proposes to eliminate or defund federal courts who defy the President.
Since our founding as a firm in 2019, we have stood up for consumers’ and citizens’ rights, as well as for victims of fraud, discrimination, and abuse. In supporting the ABA, our federal judges, and Chief Justice Roberts, we are continuing to forward our legacy as legal industry veterans and to build a better community for our clients. Without our federal judiciary system, we would be unable to provide our community and clients with the justice, integrity, and excellence we have strived to provide for over half a decade. Moreover, every day citizens would have no recourse when their Constitutional rights are trampled.
Our Constitutional rights will be gone tomorrow if lawyers do not exercise their sworn duty to uphold and defend the United States Constitution today.
